The back and Fourth

Happy April Fools' Day, everyone! 🎉

As we dive into a day filled with harmless pranks and playful shenanigans, let’s remember to keep it light-hearted and sprinkle kindness like confetti. After all, life is too short to take things seriously—unless you’re trying to assemble IKEA furniture, then all bets are off!

Now, let’s get to the juicy part: the main target stroke for April is... drumroll, please... the Backstroke! đŸ„

Yes, the backstroke! It’s like the front crawl’s laid-back cousin who shows up to the family reunion wearing flip-flops and sunglasses. While the front crawl is all about speed and splashes, the backstroke is all about relaxing and pretending you’re on a lazy river ride—just without the inflatable unicorns.

Now, let’s be honest: lying on your back in the water can feel like a game of “What’s Behind Me?”—and spoiler alert: it’s usually a rogue pool noodle or a very confused goldfish! This is why some younger swimmers might shy away from it, thinking, “I’d rather faceplant into the water than float around like a jellyfish.”

This month, we’re on a mission to boost our students' confidence and show them that the backstroke isn’t a terrifying monster lurking under the water. In fact, it’s the chillest stroke of them all! With your face out of the water (when done right), you can enjoy the view of the clouds, the sky, and maybe even catch a glimpse of that bird that just stole your sandwich.

So let’s embrace the backstroke this April and turn those fears into giggles. Remember, if you can float, you can backstroke! And if all else fails, just wave your arms like a windmill and hope for the best!

Happy swimming! đŸŠâ€â™‚ïžđŸŒŠ
